The Oakland Raiders brought back receiver Doug Gabriel Wednesday as insurance for Randy Moss' ankle injury three months after trading him to the Patriots.

Gabriel had been scheduled to start in Oakland before being traded to New England for a fifth-round pick just before the beginning of the season. He was cut this week by the Patriots and claimed by the Raiders (2-11) because Moss is questionable for Sunday's game against St. Louis. Receiver Jerry Porter has also missed the last three games with an injured hip.

:confused:

First they trade him, who at the time was a solid #3 receiver--on a team that talent wise has a core of receivers as good as anyone--but who, given Moss's lack of caring and Porter's suspensions and no playing time this year, would have been #1 on the squad, and now after making just one catch in the past 4 games and being released for , are resigning him?
:confused::confused:

Hahhaha... Only the Raiders would pick up a head case from the waiver wire that they had just traded away.

Raider's formula for offensive success:

1. Trade away head case for a measly fifth round pick (Just to let him know how you really feel about him)
2. Wait for the other team to cut said head case (Y'know... to make sure he's good and bitter about it all)
3. Bring head case back on to the team
4. ???
5. Well... there is no step five. I'm still at the ??? stage.

What a disaster this team is.

Being the Raiders fan that I am, I am disappointed in this team's management as of late.

I was at a Lions game a few weeks ago, and I'm betting Raiders fans don't make up chants mocking their team.

That might be the most PC thing I've ever heard. :laugh:
