raid5 card died...do i need to rebuild?

3ware controller died and am getting a replacement (same make/model). Do I have to rebuild everything?

No, so long as you leave the drives alone (don't even power them up, to preserve their state & data), and you get the same card, with the save revision of firmware. The RAID array information is stored on the drive for instances like this.

with 3ware you can even change the model # of the card and it will still work....
