Check this review out, old but got all the info. Not sure about different size hds but what will probably happen is the size of the raid volume will only be the size of the smallest harddrive so you would waste space on a larger one.
ok, first check out www.storagereview.com they have a very extensive tutorial on raid (its borrowed from the pcguide).. and to buy your stuff go here www.hypermicro.com.. ok, yes you should use identical drives.. saves headache.. and if u use a 40gig and a 20gig in a raid 0 array, then 20gigs out of the 40gigger will be lost.. basically if your just after performance you'll probably be lookin at raid 0.. also the forums at SR are very helpful on this topic.. good luck..
