Hello; I have an A8N32-SLI. THe mobo has 4 SATA ports, labeled SATA1/SATA2 and SATA3/SATA4.

I read somewhere that, if you're only using two hard drives, it's better to use SATA1 and SATA3, that way the two hard drives are on separate controllers. Is this true?

if you are running raid, they need to be on the same controller. if not, then perhaps, though it shouldnt make a difference really. I dont even know if that board has 1 or 2 controllers.
