I'm getting ready to put a new system together and am looking at an MSI 845PE Max2-FIR motherboard and have a question. Is it possible to attach multiple hard drives to the RAID setup without using striping or mirroring? I don't need either function, but would like to attach two or three hard drives leaving the other IDE cables for CD/RW, DVD, and Zip drives. Any general comments on this motherboard would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Yes you can run multiple HDDs on a raid controller without setting them up in any kind of a raid array.
