RAID QUESTION

I have a Maxter 30GB ata-66 7200RPM HARD DRIVE anda WD 30GB ata-100 7200RPM HARD RDIVE.

Is it possible to raid 2 different brands together? (i probably know the answere just making sure). i know it will have to run at ata-66.

ALSO what is the best RAID card for $100 or less.............. Thanks

ok yes, you can use those 2 drives, its nicer to have 2 of the exact same drives.. but hey.. i mean you're not going to get ata100 speed anyway, not sustained, but yes u get the idea... for a raid card, please spend the extra 50$ and get a good hardware raid card like the
3ware 6200 (u want raid 0, right?) http://www.hypermicro.com sells them, i think they are like 150-170 but may have dropped cuz the 7000 jus got released i belive.. well for good reviewage on raid cards

Check the forsale forum for ATA66 raid cards. Since one of your drive is already ata66 using an ata100 raid card won't give you any performance increase. I recently sold a promise ultra66 card modified to a promise fasttrak66 raid card for $15. You should find similar deals.
