Raid issue

Hey,
ive just installed a raid 0 array and everything has gone to plan installing XP was a good speed as is write/read speed UNLESS im installing say a game off a cd/dvd its rather slow.
Installing fear took 25 minutes, i have taken the raid drivers off the mobo cd so i know they are correct and installed them again when XP was setup, if anybody could shed some light i'd be grateful.
 
Just a guess on my part, but I would imagine that the limiting factor when installing your game is read speed on your optical drive, not write speed on your RAID array.
