Raid controllers and ATA 100 devices ?

I have the A7V133 MB and want to use the Raid controllers for ATA100 devices such as cdroms or internal zip drive etc. Some say no problem, just be sure that the Raid controllers are in the ATA100 mode and that's it. Others indicate that the devices, cdrom etc will be unstable in their operation. THe Raid contollers are for HD's only regardless if you're in Raid or ATA100 ??? Please give me an answer from folks that have direct experience...
Thanks,
Jerry

I too have this question, if I buy an Abit KT7A-Raid, can I use the extra raid controllers at ATA100 for a zip drive? Or will they only work at ATA66 or just for setting up raid arrays.

Thanks any help would be appreciated 🙂
