I am going to set up a server soon and I am hoping ti run RAID 0+1. I was going to run it off a PCI Card, but I want to be sure that I can boot off that card before I format the existing hard drive. The operating system is going to be Windows Home Server.

Aside from the issues with Windows Home server, its a matter of finding the correct settings in your particular bios - setting the correct boot order.

i boot from a PCI-X raid card in my ESX server just fine. most of my windows servers i use the onboard raid for a raid1 array for the OS and a PCI card for a raid5 for data. i've never had a problem.
