Raid 1 question

Quick raid question... Ive done this before on servers, but first shot at my home pc. I have a Shuttle SB83G5 with onboard SATA RAID. Currently i have one drive in there which is runnign XP, but i want to mirror it. I have an exact same drive for the new mirror.
To get the mirror setup, will i need to create the array and to reinstall windows, or can i connect the new drive, and have it start replicating the data over in the prewindows RAID setup and boot to windows normally afterwards?

you should be able to create the array without reinstalling windows, but I only had experience with one type of raid controller.

some drive will nuke the array

ghost image before raid to another drive

install drive & array

if it works, ur in the clear, if not, u can restore the image.

ghost does get corrupted, do not ghost to CD /DVD and if you have large drive, make 2 dumps

huh huh i said dump
