Raid 1 backup - internal or external

if i want a raid 1 backup, do I go internal or external?

If external, what's a good enclosure?

I already have a raid 1 raptor set up, but i want a backup for that, and extra stuff I have.
 
I got a KingWin enclosure w/1TB drive and an Antec w/500GB in it. Either one is decent. Antec was $60 though...vs $3x for the KingWin at microcenter. Both have fans as well in them and power switches. The KingWin does eSata and USB, other USB for sure, not sure off the top of my head if it does other.
