I want a raid setup for my pc but I want something that is going to last for at least 2yrs with out any kind of brutal crash. Any Suggestions. My PC specs so far is(not that it matters in this matter):

933mhz P3
256ram
34gig 7200rpm IBM HD
SCIS CD-RW(12x)

I personally like the SCSI RAID but the adapter is gonna cost you. As far as drives, you can get some decently priced drives from places like hypermicro or computergeeks. As far as brand names, I usually go with the cheapest drive that has a 3-year waranty. In the world of computer, 3 years is nearly the lifetime of the part. But I Have a friend that did raid with IDE and got really good results. For less than 400 bucks he got 240 gigs of raid 0. You of course can get smaller amounts of HD space and less drives, for a similar effect. Good luck.

IDE, as a former user of Atlas 10K II's every day (in the server now, out of the room) the drives were wuiet but the fans I had to put over then (or else the would quit, really) were just too much.
