Raid-0 Question

If i'm putting windows/all my applications on two Hitachi SATA II 80gb hard drives in Raid-0 and I also buy one Seagate 7200.8 250gb hard drive, will that cancel out the speedincrease I'll receive from the Raid-0?

The very definition of raid-0 (other then just flat out more storage space) is performance. writing/read data (esp read) to/from 2 drives is definetely quicker then from 1 drive. best perf of course would be from hardware raid-0 as opposed to software.

oh, well, actually my question was that if I already had the raid-0 drives, will getting another drive for purely storage purposes cancel out the effects of the raid-0 like loading windows.

nope. having a storage drive in case the RAID fails is a very good idea. do a google search for articles on how much benefit RAID 0 really gives you.... very minimal.
