RAID 0 on Win2k system partition

Is it possible to use software RAID 0 for a single partition system in Windows 2000? I have two drives of the same size and I want to increase my I/O performance. Only problem is that everything I have read so far indicates that you can't have a RAID 0 configuration on the system/boot partition. I would really love to have a completely transparent striping configuration which shows only one drive/partition under Win2K. Is there a workaround to accomplish this?

No. Win 2K can do software RAID 0 as such, but not on your system drive.

You could get a true hardware RAID controller now for about $125 or so.

Ok but what I'm really looking to find out is if anyone has found a workaround. I seems reasonable that there may be a way that a software app or some kind of OS tweak could make this happen.

What he said.

Besides, if you could have a true hardware RAID for such a small amout of money why would you want to bother with a software-based raid?

You can pick up a cheap card at computergeeks.com for $26. It's not the comon chipset but works fine for me.
