RAID 0 help..

I am current using my WD 80GB HD and I want to add another identical HD to RAID0 the two HDs. but the thing is I have partition the old one into 3 partitions. can I still RAID0 the two?

To create a RAID array you will need to destroy all partitions (and consiquently all data) currently on the drive before you create the RAID array. So you will need to back up all your data before you can use RAID. Personally, if you have no real compelling reason to use RAID, I wouldn't (and don't).

Agreed. What exactly do you need RAID 0 for? Most enthusiasts have virtually no need for RAID 0.

agreed x2. suck it up and use two drives... you'll be glad you did if one of your drives die 🙁

Don't listen to them. It rocks. Now I wouldn't use it as your boot drive or to keep things you'd like to save on it though. I did have a disk on a RAID 0 array die. And yes it sucked because I had a lot of stuff on it that I hadn't backed-up. So, now I have a RAID 1 array instead. But, if you want more speed, you'll get it.
