Rage Fury Pro + Win2k = No gaming?

Short and sweet: Rage Fury Pro and Win2k Pro w/ SP2 installed. Latest special purpose drivers from ATi installed as well. Counter-Strike still runs like crap in OpenGL and D3D. Is this card the kiss of death for gaming? Please do not tell me to buy a new card because it's not too important anyway. Thanks in advance.
 
have you tried using an earlier win2k driver? that often times fixes problems, as new drivers may have a performance issue with your particular hardware (sound card, motherboard, etc) that previous drivers did not have.

I'll try using older drivers when I have more time. Thanks for the tips.

Don't use the special purpose drivers. Use the latest supported drivers, DirectX8, and the DirectX digital video supplement. MY RFP works great using those drivers under Win2k.
