Did you watch the video, or are you basing your great foresight on screenshots?

I noticed it a little while ago during the last steam update. Not too sure about this one though. Is it simply a collection of mini-games? It looks interesting, and might be a nice change of pace from the typical shooter-faire offered through steam.

Another interesting thing is the quote here on the webpage:

TextRag Doll Kung Fu is the first wholly independently developed game to be distributed through Steam, using custom physics and graphics technology to give you a really fresh and unique games experience!

So this is the first 3rd party independently developed game being offered via Steam, a noteworthy approach being taken by Valve to expose gamers to titles they might otherwise skip (or that might never make it to retail in the first place). Slightly reminiscent of iTunes, where up and coming artists can get digital exposure via the internet.

I'd be great if someone here does buy it, and lets us know how it plays!

I preordered it up, even if it sucks, I want to support indie game makers trying out new stuff... and releasing it through an awesome channel.

Agreed. However, good news is that a demo will be released sometime after the full version (could be month or two, who knows?). I think I'll wait for the demo, it just doesn't look that exciting.

I dunno, I think if Valve is offering it it must be fun.

I'll probably wait to hear what other people say about it first.

I watched the videos just now. it looks liek a high end flash gmae. That's about it really.

not impressed at all. Adn how do yu control the characters? That would bea PITA if you need to use a mouse (much like you would for a cr@ppy flash game)

I take it back. I watched the one video again (rdkf_gdc.avi) that is 109 meg. This looks pretty cool. Hope the novelty doesn't wear off to quick though. Definitely something new.

Be sure you assume that Valve created this game instead of reading about it, and immediately start your complaining... idiots.

I think that game has something if there's a demo i'll definetly play it, it's hard to say how i'll like it or not, because it really stands or falls on the mouse movement implementation, if it manages to make that movement feel good, then i'll definetly get it, it's one of the most funny games i've ever seen.

This is exactly what a lot of gamers have been asking for. A tangible benefit to online content, small time developers (or in this case, 1 member of a decent sized developer doing a side job) getting a chance to show off something that probably would have never seen the light of day. I will probably get it, if it works out good it could start up a community of online pc fighters.

That's what I'm hoping for. It's not only a fun looking game, but just think of the plethora of content we may be able to buy for a small price. Some good, some bad, but that's like anything else these days. My only issue with it is that Valve will have to rework steam a little bit due to the fact that the "play games" window will get a bit overcrowded... heck, mine is already overcrowded with stuff! :D

I'd like to play a demo first. I've bought to much crapware in the past to spend even 13 of my dollars on something that I might not even like.
