It's a good card for 2D and will do pretty well in 3D. If you don't mind registry hacks and some overclocking then you should get a Radeon LE for cheaper. When tweaked it will perform the same as a Radeon 32 DDR
buy the Radeon LE, its simply underclocked a bit and has hyperz disabled in D3D. With a few simple tweaks you can have a Radeon 32mb DDR for half the price
Thanks all for replies.
Where I live (Sweden) the price difference is about 50 percent. But isn't the "real" radeon using higher quality stuff?=better overclocking and 2D output?!
IIRC, the LE's were Radeon 23mb DDRs that didn't have fast enough yields with their RAM so they were underclocked. But you won't have to worry about 2d quality being hampered. to get the full story, just visit the review of the card here
Well you aren't gaurunteed any type of overclock but 99% of the LE's will do 166/166 probably and some much higher (up to ~190/190 I heard with extra cooling!).
