Not to threadcrap, but I returned mine ( it was for 99.99 anyways) and they had many of them sitting 'returned' & I saw the packaging was all opened.

Bought the PDA version at $69+tax but never opened it. Will be returning it to RatShack unless someone here wants it at cost (+shipping), PM me if interested.

Excellent GPS Routing Software for those who want to get the max out of their GPS Receivers:

If any of you guys are serious about getting the best GPA solution on your PPC/Palm, you should check out mapopolis.com.

I bought a navigator subscription from them for use on my PPC last week and am VERY happy with it. It has active GPS with Voice Guidance and seems to work very well in all situations.

Bought it from www.mapopolis.com

The software is Free to download, however you have to buy the maps, which are essentially based on Data from Navtech

My radio shack had the pda version (ipaq) at $69.99

It was soooo bad I had to return it. Casual users stay away. The learning curve is too high and the software reeks.

Any suggestions for better software then? I agree that the Delorme stuff has some quirks.

I still think $70 for the reciever is a steal. I haven't seen any others for <$100, once again, if you know of any, please post the info.

It would be nice if anybody who bought the DigiTraveller (PPC) for $69 could either post a scan of their receipts of email me with one..........I could probably get a price adjustment for the one I bought.

For an EXCELLENT and very easy to use Navigation Software with DigiTraveller, see my post above.

Any GPS only needs 3-4 channles to triangulate an accurate position(including military GPS). Having 16 channels should not be the only reason for buying this GPS. Then some of you will say that lock on times are faster....this may or may not be true depending on the system architecture of the GPS receiver. However, a 16 channel GPS receiver will allow you to pick up new satellites when it becomes available...this does not mean it will use all satellites to get a position. I don't think the average GPS user would ever need 16 channels unless they were flying an SR-71 Blackbird at Mach 3, which in this case tracking 16 satellites would be essential since the visibility time is so short due to the high rate of speed.
