if one hears a song they like on the radio, but didnt hear its name, how would one find it?
i was wondering if maybe there was an archive of the daily braodcasted songs on any station.
maybe some radio stations do that on theri site but what if they dont...

lost cause or not?

Just keep listening, as they only play about 15 songs, total, per station format. However, it does seem like they don't announce the name and artist that often anymore..

Some stations have their own system on their site. Some are available on other sites like this one (the easiest way to find it on Yes would probably be to follow this link and change the last 4 letters of the URL to match the station ID).

Yes.com is a great site. I've used it many times in the same scenario as the OP.

If you remember any of the words from the song simply Google (insert phrase from song here) lyrics. As long as it's relatively distinct (i.e. don't Google "I love you lyrics," that would be pointless) it should be too hard to find the song on a lyrics database site. Has always worked pretty well for me, at least.

this song was one of those that are rarely played, and i usually search for the lyrics but they can be conspicuous.
the site is great though, thanks.
