It's official - Radio Shack sucks. I went there for all of 5 measly parts, only 2 of which they had. Anyone have any good electronic supply stores/websites that have good catalogs & part listings?

Well, unless you're building a life-size transformer, they're probably going to have the parts everyday people need. The stores around here are overpriced, but they're local. Ignoring the sales idiots, getting in, and getting out seems to work for me. :)

With digikey, mouser, and newark you should be able to find any part imaginable.

Radio Shack is the only store that had mini-heatsinks when I needed them. It is the only store that had an ultrafine soldering needle when I needed it.. Also, a mono miniphone to rca adapter, a USB extension cable for less than $20, a 5-way cable splitter, an inexpensive AA-D-cell nimh battery charger, a cheap digital indoor/outdoor thermometer for my kegerator, 10W 1ohm resistors, etc etc etc

Don't say RS sucks. They have parts no one else carries locally.. Sure, you can order sh!t online if you plan everything a week in advance. I don't. I hope they stay around.

Thanks much for the links. It's been dificult to locate 12 awg wire that's rated 105C with a high strand count. Gonna be making some harnesses for my headlights and fog lights soon; the average joe 80C wire doesn't cut it, usually common primary wire doesn't have more than a 19 strand count for 12 awg. Alpha as well as Belden make a 12 awg with a 65/30 strand count--much more flexible than 19/25 strand count.

A virus that takes the fractions of a cent and deposits them into a bank account?? That can get you sent to federal "pound me in the ass" prison. :D
