Had to think about that for a minute, since these kinds of remote controls were merely a gleam in some engineer's eye when I was in school. 😉 Would like to hear some stories, nevertheless!

had a casio one in 7th grade (~13 years ago). Ironically, it was smaller than this one, and had much better controls. Used to seriously mess w/ all of the teachers in our block, and would pass it around to friends in between classes to confuse them further.

you need to see it too fully appreciate its nerdiness. it is large, and I've owned some large watches in my day (casios w/ thermometers, w/ remotes, and w/ measurement wheels). please correct me if I am wrong, but IIRC, it takes a CR2032.
forgot to mention the wristband is uncomfortably inflexible. cool toy for $5, tho.
 
Cool deal. Unfortunately none of the stores have them yet. they say that it is a new product and will be available in couple of days.

Ordered them online.
 
2 stories:

The first time I used one of those watches was during a 10th grade biology class with a substitute that day. She was pushing 70+ years of age and as senile as it gets. We were supposed to watch a video that day. Needless to say, it took her 10 minutes to get the TV to come on with our "help". After we got her to rub the tv's side to get it to work, we let her turn it on. Then we hit FF and Rewind until she made it to the VCR when we would stop. After about 50 minutes she gave up and the class got a nice chat with the VP the next day.


The next time bordered on cruel and unusual punishment. P.E. class turns into "Health" class for a week for the kids whose parents signed the release form. Anyway, on Friday THE video was shown. Everyone who has taken this class has seen the video. Well, we decided to replay the birth scene about 15 times over. The class was scarred for life by the end of the period.

They were one step ahead of us in health class. All of the good videos were on these crazy things called "laser"discs, and my watch didn't work on them.
They didn't show you that stuff 'til 10th grade? They made us watch that in 7th. I imagine they're showing it to 4th graders now...

"regular" ones for $10 (reg. $20), "performance" ones (with switchable freqs.) for $15 (reg. $25)-- for the older, pre-2005 models -- plus some misc. other zip-zap stuff on clearance.

Got me a Starsky and Hutch special edition for $15 -- this was a few days ago 7/30 I think, so i'm not sure if the sale is still going.
