Radio Shack name and address policy

I just got myself a seasonal job at RS a little while back and I thought I'd share this little story.

When you give your name and address to RS you are not automatically put on a list to be sent a flyer. You will only be sent a flyer if you shop at the same RS three times in 90 days. Your name and address can be used for looking up receipts you may have lost in the case of returns under warranty. But according to my district manager the #1 thing names and addies are used for is to measure how friendly a salesperson is. So I got pulled aside the other day because I'm not meeting my quota of addresses. Which is because I wasn't asking for the addy when someone bought batteries or a cable or something similar.

So next time you enter a RS if you got bad service don't give your address, its how employees are rated. If you did get good service give your address.

Anyways just thought I'd let you guys know so it was news to me and I never gave my address in the past.

Thats why I mentioned to put in the address I pasted. They get their address, and you dont have to put up with crap like that.

Awwww, that ruins my theory that they were handing the information over to the feds so they would know if you were acquiring the materials needed to construct a bomb.

Heh. The last time I bought a bunch of circuit components the clerk was like, "So what kind of bomb are you building?" I wasn't too sure how to respond to that since he didn't say it jokingly.

(I was building a simple TOSLINK/SPDIF adapter with extra parts for when I screwed up, in case you were wondering)
