This was posted around 12/28. Anyway, I ordered this and it may not be the highest quality DMM. I was checking out the Ohm Meter, and shorting the leads does not register an immediate short circuit on the display. The BEEP takes a while to happen. I have not used it much more than that. It may be a decent DMM for simple testing... Just FYI.

I got this about a year ago for about $50 to $60. It's a good meter and a hot deal at $20. I,ve never used the software, so I can't comment on that.

Got this like six month ago for about $20. I have to agree with robwilliams, very slow to update. It's defiantly nothing like my fluke. The PC interface is cool if you can live with the lethargic response.

I went ahead and ordered this last week because I thought my other meter might be broken... I wasn't sure if it was giving accurate readings. I figured for $20.00 this one is as good as any other meter for the same price and might actually be a deal.

Well, turns out my other meter is working fine. I think this one is pretty good for the price, but, it does have a slow response time. It takes a good 2-3seconds to lock in on a voltage or give a reading. I'm not sure how useful that would be when hooked up to a PC unless it somehow works quicker in that mode?

Well, I figure it'll be a nice spare to keep in my travel tool bag.

OK so it's a litttle slow, but has anyone compared the accuracy against a higher-end meter like a Fluke? It would be well worth $20 to me if I can use it to accurately set the TPS sensor in my Mustang to 0.995 (or even 0.99) volts.

By the way, I see the meter is actually made by Metex, not a Radio Shack brand. I found the next model up, the ME-21, for $59.95 at Jameco.com, so the "regular price" of $100 for this one seems a tad misleading.

I would stay away from this meter.

Bought one for my dad since I broke his 1970's vintage meter by driving over it with my car...ooops.

First one arrived...opened it up, pressed power button..."crunch"....broken.
Sent it back.....

Second one arrived...opened it up, battery in, worked fine. Hooked up a serial cable and played with software...kinda nice...set trip points...can monitor hi-low voltages. Removed computer cable n stuff and took it home. Plugged into AC voltage...watched my AC vary a bit...meter went blank. Tried a number of things...dead.

Returned it...told the customer support to not sell this POS.

Gonna give my dad my old generic meter and get a fluke or similar...figure I'll spend around $120 or so for something.....
