Just trying to help (and for this they get a "luck", Clear Channel, owner of over 1,170 radio stations, has banned these songs from their airwaves. Included are songs about war, the word "Tuesday", and even "Walk Like an Egyptian" (okay, i can do without that one...). I've confirmed the list with people there and they say it's legit.

What about Madonna and Britney Spears, I find them offensive ?

I'm in the mood for some Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains or maybe AC/DC.

its simple, just boycott all of their stations. I dont believe there are any in michigan, but, who knows.

Hey, does anyone want to start spamming this to people? This is at least a worthy and real cause.

Actually a bunch of these songs I believe have gotten more airtime in the past week. I haven't heard "Fade to Black" but maybe once or twice a week and now its on two different radio stations a couple times a day. Not that I'm complaining about it.

That can't be true.....Clear Channel owns 5 of the top radio stations here in Dallas-Ft Worth.

The Edge 102.1
Eagle 97.1
Mix 102.9
KZPS 92.5
Kiss 106.1

Some of those songs are not offensive at all.....this has got to be a bad rumor.

Here is a link that debunks the story about a list with Clear Channel......quoting from the article

<< Executives within the radio division at Clear Channel Communications -- one of the nation's largest radio conglomerates -- denied any list had been developed. >>

Wow, THAT is stupid. Once again, another business is panicing and over-reacting to recent events, just like the terrorists WANTED US TO DO. Idiots.

Not to set aside the fact that Randy Crawford, John Bon Jovi and others also have done a cover of this song.

I have to agree with the comments here. It is stupid. Think clearly for a moment with me. Assume you've been directly affected by the tragedy. Alright, that's truly horrible. Now, are you going to be listening to Godsmack and Rage Against The Machine? Are you going to be listening to the radio at all? I don't know about you, but when I'm feeling like utter shit, I don't exactly feel like listening to the radio. And if I DID decide to turn it on, it would be my choice, no? So why should I be offended by anything that plays on it? If it disgusts me, the power button is very accessible.

Now why they banned ALL Rage Against The Machine songs and only one Godsmack song is beyond me. And they banned a bunch of Beatles/etc, that kind of stuff? Ridiculous. Is there ANYONE here that's offended by much or any of that music on the list? Anybody?

AC/DC "Safe in New York City"

Alright, that I can understand, if they banned it from New York and surrounding areas' radio stations, for a couple days. It's now a full week from the tragedy though, and I think most people can recover SOMEWHAT, to the point that the radio wouldn't make them go ballistic.
