Radiient Calypso 5, 5 speaker home theatre set

Not sure...avsforums.com would be best for those answers.

I have the insignia NS-B2000 bookshelfs that are popular now for $50/pr at Best Buy working surround duty with my Klipsch Quartets and Academy. Good for listening levels I am forced into living in an apartment now.

I posted their sale last time they had it, maybe a month ago? Here's a review for the Europa bookshelf speakers which are now just $99 shipped. Here's two for the Elara set number 2which is basically the Europas with matching center and surrounds for $349. Here's a review of the speaker from the OP the Calypso set.
And here's their highest level speakers, the Helios which are $500.

Radiient doesn't actually make these speakers: they are produced by a company called First Audio Manufacturing, which is based out of China. They are a major OEM supplier (although I don't know exactly what other companies they supply to) and also sell their own stuff under the name Fidek. If you trudge through their very slow website, you'll find some matching speakers for the Radiient Helios, and very very close matches for the others.

Bottom line is that this is not competition for high end speakers, by any means. However as budget speakers, they seem like a great deal (especially at the sale price), and when you factor in the free shipping and 30day trial period, you can't really lose.

PS the Insignia speakers that has the audio forums in an uproar are also made by First Audio, and they are an exact match for the rear speakers from the Radiient Elara and Helios sets, but with a different finish. One way to "demo" the Radiient's is to go listen to these at Best buy, or even buy them and listen at home (return within 30 days if desired). You'll get a good idea about the general quality of the First Audio products, both in sound and appearance.
