I tried to start up my computer earlier, the computer came on but no video. Then I noticed my ATI Radeon X1950 Pro was displaying a bright Red LED. Red is never good. What's it mean exactly? Anything I might be able to do to fix it? I've already reseated it a bunch. Was working fine before.

Edit: Just saw some sparks fly when I tried to reseat it again, sparks are also never a good sign :p

Not sure, doesn't say anything on there, also doesn't say anything about a red light in the manual.

You tried to reseat it with the power still on to the motherboard?

Red light on some ATI cards is lit during initialisation/power-up. Possibly indicates a power fault (power supply, PCIe power connector or motherboard).

As the others said that T_Fault LED will display if the card has gone bad or your power supply isn't feeding it enough juice. Also as betasub alluded to, never re-seat a card with the power on.

I tried with a different video card and it still didn't work. Now leaning toward the motherboard. Time to order one, get it a week later, find out it still doesn't work, and RMA it :p

Did you solve the problem with new motherboard?
My X1900AIW suffer the same problem but with two red led light, T FAUL and EXT POWER.
PSU is OK: I tested with a Corsair VX550 and a TX750.
Mobo or Videocard?

My system:

I recently downloaded the Crysis demo and found that my Radeon X1950 XT displays a red LED only a few minutes into the game, and both monitors go blank (no signal). The X1950 heatsink gets VERY hot, with GPU temps exceeding 115C. Needless to say, I'm replacing the video card.

After Googling this issue, I was surprised to find that no one in this thread has pointed out that there are two LEDs on the X1950, right next to each other. One is labeled "T_Fault" and the other is "EXT_Pwr." I assume these LEDs exist to indicate overheating and power issues, respectively. While I can't confirm this, the naming conventions seem rather straightforward.

I didn't check to see which LED was lit when this happened, but considering the high temperatures, I think overheating is a safe bet.

Other basics:

Asus P5K-E
Core2Quad Q6600
Corsair MPSU-520HX PSU
