Radeon X1900 XTX, XT, Crossfire pricing revealed

If Ati has wide availablility, then there's no excuse for price-gouging retailers. $550 for the xt seems reasonable, but I've already seen it selling for less, so hopefully the prices will go below msrp shortly after.

If there's wide availability, consumers are the only ones to blame if they get hit with price-gouging. Besides, it's not like video cards are on par with disaster supplies, utilities, gas, food, water, etc. . .

Yeah, check out this thread over at the hardforums. Two guys got their x1900xts today from online venders for around msrp, a week before the release date.

Maybe the early street release is to make up for the previous paper launches. It would be nice to see some official reviews before making any decisions, however.

Agreed.

Looks like SLI isnt dead/useless/crappy tech like many would have us believe. It will poke its head out as a spectacular value in some cases, such as this one.
I gave $275 for my 7800GT, I'd much rather pay $550 for two of these than get one X1900XTX for $100 more.

$550? darnit

i've only budgeted $400 for a new video card

i need a 'pro' or 'xl' version

too bad i didn't jump on that compusa x1800xt deal the other day ($350 due to price error)

Woot! Just ordered my X1900XTX from Digitally Unique. Called them first though! Said they had 4 in stock at their IL warehouse. I ordered it with 2 day delivery since it won't ship until Monday. I'll post if I get an actual tracking number! Total after shipping was an ungodly $666.65. No pun intended! It is steep! But, I am posting my X1800XT on eBay to defray the costs.
