Hey guys.

Some ask me about some power draw. I did some testing.

At stock 1000/1250, I pull around 1200-1300w from the wall

At 1120/1500, it pulls around 1550w from the wall in average.

Good thing I bought that second 1000w PSU to bench 😀 ( I mean tsm106 recommended to buy it)

( I will bench at 1240mhz+ / 1650)

Are you using quick disconnects with the external radiators? I think I saw something that could be one, so I wasn't sure!

Yes 😉

I also install them in order to remove the External Rad and still close the loop to continue without it.

Meh! That's not even 1400w (adjusted for efficiency) and that's a peak measurement. That Lepa G1600 isn't even sweating. That baby will do 1600w continuous at an ambient temp of 50°C all day long.
It definitely knows there's a load attached, though. 😀

True, I'm good up to 1818w from the wall with that PSU (88% efficiency) . But no its not peak measurement though. My kill a watt doesnt have a hold button. I took this pic while it was oscilliating between 1510w and 1575w.

The home breaker will almost trip before the psu shuts down.

*ponders* I say see which one goes first 😀

I've pulled 1100w at the killawatt with just two 290x and cpu alone. You've not hit full stride on the gpus yet. 😀

Btw, whql drivers just went valid on futuremark.

You know your rig is insane when you have to start worrying about airflow in the room instead of case airflow.

But yea there is no way all four GPUs were near 100% load when you got that reading, you would be over 1500w for sure.

This power hungry thread is bad for my bank account.. have decided to switch out the Maximus Hero and get a Asus Z87-WS as well as a 3rd GTX 780..

My Valley score actually went down when I added a 4th Titan. Didn't really slow down either in the spots where it normally would have. It's like it simply has a max FPS cut off and stays around there. Not sure what's up with that.

Karlitos, do you have a Kill-a-watt? I'd like to see what it's pulling from the outlets. I ordered one a few days ago, so it should be here shortly.

I've had a Kill A-Watt for quite some time. In rig 1 below I ran Intel Burn test (3930k @ 4.4Ghz) AND ran the benchmark for Valley and the total wattage was 670. 1550Watts??? What's your utility company? I'll buy stock in it!

For comparison purposes I'll post my Kill A Watt readings. My Kill A Watt just arrived in the mail today. Plugged it in a did some testing. Only my PC was connected to it.

This is the highest wattage reading I was able to capture while running Unigine Heaven with everything maxed at 2560x1600.

Then I decided to load up LinX AVX, set it to 10 threads 20GB, and run Unigine Heaven at the same time.

That will get that big Lepa's attention! Simply awesome PSU!

What really impresses me is how compact, relative to other high powered PSU's, that the big Enermax PSU's are and they still run cool and quiet with 50°C cerification.

Yeah I know. This LEPA G1600 is amazing. I actually saw the reading go over 1800W once, but wasn't fast enough to snap a photo.

Thankyou for sharing that, that is why the Enermax LEPA G1600 is my fav PSU, unfortunately I couldn't get hold of one in New Zealand so settled for a humble Max Revo..

There's nothing humble about the MaxRevo 1500. 😛

Again, impressed with it's size. No other company's big PSU's would fit your case. The big Delta's (Antec) will, but they aren't quite as burley a PSU as the Enermax's.

Yup...Mine @ 5.1 with just two 780 Classifieds (custom bios) were shutting down a 1300 watt psu during 3DMark runs.

That's impressive power usage with just 2 cards. Have just purchased a third reference evga gtx 780 so will post wattage results once the Asus Z87 WS arrives. :awe:

Why did you do this Karlitos 🙁

I am in the process of rebuilding my current system and I just found your current thread.

Time to Order me a DP X-Star screen!
