I just updated my ATI Radeon 64 DDR with the newest drivers and it now shows up as a ATI 7500

What gives folks?

MODS this is probably also off topic and in the wrong place so go ahead and boot me

The 7500 is based on the original Radeon core(and clocked higher), so the drivers will show the original Radeon as a 7500. There is a table in this AT Article that details the core used by each of the Radeon cards, among other info.

The new drivers must not have the ability the id the older cards so they just do a "Best Guess"

I have a radeon 32 mb ddr card and am having a ton of problems getting it to run Open GL games such as Quake 3, Medal of Honor, and Return to Castle Wolfenstien. I have installed the newest drivers for Windows XP and they just do not work.

Has anyone had a simmilar problem with their Radeon card and WinXP? ]

Incidentally, with Windows XP my Radeon 32 mb ddr card shows up as a Radeon 7200 / Radeon
