Radeon Mobility M9 64m to 128m?!

So, I ripped the card out of my laptop, thanks to ATI and flexfit...

To my horror, my 64mb video card has memory labeled, from the manufacturer at least, as a 4mx32 setup.

Meaning 128mb.
?!?!?!?!

Did they just include the memory on the card and not tie it together? Anyone else have any experience with ATI M9s?

There are four physical chips on the card, and I've matched the model on them to the very digit on Hynix's website...HY5DU283222A-F-33.

Says it only comes one way, as a 128mb GDDR setup, with four chips. They are on two different sides of the card, but I can't easily make out where they may or may not tie together.

Full model number on the card (HP Pavilion ZT3000 laptop) is "M9P64H". The GPU itself is labeled a 9000, but I think it's just the memory that makes the difference in model.

So my question is, did my card begin life as a 9600, and then they just didn't solder something so it's only half the memory?!

I have plenty of pictures, if you need them.

Feel free to email! Thanks!
