Radeon Mobility 9600?

When is the latest and greatest mobile graphics chip coming down through the ODM's? I was going to buy a Clevo based system (ie Alienware, ProStar etc) but supposedly the new GPU's are supposed to be coming soon. I'm willing to wait, but I'd like to know how long that's gonna be.
 
I've heard anywhere from late-may to mid-july. also of note is a 7200rpm 2.5" hd... so i'd wait. big centrino $ cuts soon as well.
 
I'm not sure about high quality, but assuming that the chip is similar to the desktop one, 1024x768 medium quality should be smooooove.
 
I don't know, Anand's review showed that the desktop radeon 9600 pro only pulled about 40 fps at 1024x768 medium quality no AA. If the mobile version is similar to that.. well, let's just say I'll have to wait on purchasing my new system!
 
sgtapone - since it was a doom3 benchmark, i'd assume they created a stress-test, not just some random gameplay. if a card can pull off 40fps of full-out craziness in doom3, i'm in. 25fps is playable to me so i'm psyched.
 
And of course, processors and RAM will have taken a few quantum leaps by the time Doom III hits the shelves. Come on, Intel, you stuck a meg of L2 on the Pentium-M's, put it on your desktop chips! 😀

Hmm.. well let's just hope the mobility 9600 comes out in June, I don't have all the time in the world to wait around for new graphics chipsets/processors to come out.. I'm going back to college for round 3 this fall, need to have my new system broken in before then! 🙂
