Radeon HD 2900 XT on sale now at ZipZoomfly

I am determined to order one just for the hell of it on the condition the drivers are decent. I replaced my 6200 TC with a 8600 GT because 6200 TC wasn't enough for Vista Aero. Now everytime I play quicktime HD (H.264), I get bluescreen. So much for the hardware assisted high-definition decoding. :disgust:

Nice to see signs of life in the video-forum again ... I guess! 😉

Also I'll be interested to see some accurate benchmarks in the next couple weeks ... hopefully ATI can make a decent showing.

tuteja reminds me of that crazy lady who was here and banned a couple times around the 7800gtx launch, married to zinn2b or something. absoluteley crazy.

This worth it for 400$ or 480$ for a brand new 8800gtx?

most likely not, but we'll see...

Oh ok. Cus i just ordered a eVGA 8800GTX for 480$ shipped new. i wouldnt mind getting the 2900XT

I'm calling BS on the GTX for 480.00 shipped. Screenshot of the purchase or it didnt happen =p

Very much looking forward to the benches on this thing, if it even approaches a GTX at 400.00 that's a win all around.

Matt2 what is wrong with you... are you wanting to be next Crusader ?

Are you interested in GPU or your just love with Nvidia ?

What the hell do you mean what is wrong with me?

I'm in love with nvidia because I think someone running a 5.2GHZ C2E and a super cooled R600 3DMock05 run is useless?

If it makes you feel better I think the WR for the 8800u is equally useless and stupid.

Unless you guys plan on playing Crysis and Alan Wake with one hand while continuously dropping dry ice into tube, then that WR should be useless to you too.

I dont know, if not jumping AMD's nuts makes me a fanboy, then color me green.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ?

This is a Video forum... you know when nvidia release a new GPU we talk about the dude who overclocks it to stupid crazy speed to achieve wacky score. We do that because we are GPU enthusiastic not a idiot gaming joe that get his info from gamespot gpu reviews.

And this folks is why you go out and get laid instead of worrying about video cards.

hahahahahaha

What PSU do you have, and what do you have in your system drawing power?

I've got a 680W Seasonic, but its also got 3 optical drives, 4 hdds, and 3 120mm fans drawing power from it.

It came today at 10:00, and I'm running it in my brothers PC (im on leave in the states).
FX-55, 2GB corsair (all stock), basic IDE HDD,

>>OCZ 520 Modstream<<

Funny thing is, i get a "performance warning", and "Your graphics card may not be properly supported... PSU... clock speeds reduced... please make sure appropriate cables are connected."

Now, It didn't work with the regular 6 hole plug, I had to plug it into the back 6 holes of the 8 hole plug or else [no display].

I will be running some sort of preliminary bench on this rig if I can get one to work. (3dmark isn't working right now). Unfortunately I won't be able to benchmark fully until I get back to my big rig in sig in Japan. (June 1)

Good news is that it is extremely quiet in 2D mode. (I don't care about 3D because I use sound when I game 😉
