Radeon Goes Out of Sync in Games

If I install any other drivers other than the ones that came on the cd then my Radeon goes out of sync in all games except Asherons Call. I have tried Dx7a and Dx8. I get the same problem. Quake III, Half Life, Everquest all go out of sync. My monitor is the Samsung 900p. I have got the latest inf file but it does not seem to make a difference. Something is changing between the drivers in the registry or somewhere that is trying to force it to refresh above 160hz. Or at least that is the monitors msg. I have tried setting the refresh to several different ones to no fix. And this is just in games. 2d works fine. I have checked and unchecked sync every frame but still no change.

Can someone PLEASE help. I have tried several driver sets from Atis reccommended and the 50xx ones. I have not tried the 7.41 as its a pain in the butt to have to reformat to get old drivers back on.

P.S. I hate you 3dfx. Best driver support in the industry and you go out of business. My Voodoo III never had ANY problems. *pulls hair out and says many four letter words*
