OK, this might not have anything to do with it, but I suggest you take a look
at this page. Here's a paste of the relavent bit..
Static Virtual Memory Management:
For Windows95, 98, and Me:
1. Right click on My Computer, and go to Properties.
2. Click on the Performance Tab.
3. Click on the Virtual Memory button.
4. A couple of notes about Virtual Memory first. I recommend that users with less then 64MB of RAM to let windows manage your virtual memory settings.
5. Click on "Let me specify my own virtual memory settings".
6. For 128MB users, I recommend the minimum value to be set at 2 times your RAM (256), and the maximum value to be set at 2 1/2 times your RAM (320), or 3 times your RAM (384). Many users prefer the min and max to be the same value at 256, but setting the max to 2 1/2 times guarantees you enough virtual memory space.
*Note: If any of you Radeon users plan on watching the Ark Demo, you will need to set your max to at least 2 1/2 times your RAM, since the demo uses 400MB of allocated memory! Setting the max to only 256MB cache + 128MB RAM = 384MB - not enough to run the Ark demo!
Hope this helps ya.
