Radeon AIW8500DV 64MB $126 @ O.D. - hot or not? Not, it's $57 now.

Seems best price of the engines. Is this card still good? I know it's not Pro nor 128MB, but is AGP4X, has 2 firewire ports and rest of AIW features.

my office depot doesn't even carry this card.

I wish they did. I'd purchase one :(

Mine still works OK for my needs.
I think I saw a posting somewhere, perhaps the wallet site that it's $80 somewhere? Or maybe it was when I was at dumpinggrounds.com. If that's the name of it. I've heard differing things about that place, though.

Good card, I use one.

I'm not a big gamer, but it seems to run Battlefield 1942 ok.

This card isn't manufactured anymore so they're not easy to find. I got mine for $99 at CompUSA a bit ago.

It's prolly the best AIW card under the 9700. Much better then the 9000 which only has two pipelines.

Based on the fatwallet thread some OD has it for $89 but nobody is able to provide a scan of the receipt or the store number. anyone here had any luck getting one at $89.

Got two of these in Savannah GA - they were $126.03 and there was a sign for an extra 25% off all clearance items = $94.52.

Not bad, but as others said there have been better deals.

It's prolly the best AIW card under the 9700. Much better then the 9000 which only has two pipelines.

Actually the 9000 is 4 pipelines (though only 1 texture unit per pipe, vs 2 texture units on the 8500). Also don't forget the 9600 aiw, which is faster than the 8500.

1/9/04 is when the clearance price was supposed to drop. found 3 in N Richland Hills for 57.44 each, so I guess the price has dropped already :D

I have 2 of these cards, which I paid approx. $114 for each about 2 years ago, after rebates. The ATI 8500DV is the only card that has a digital tuner. Some people were having so much trouble that all cards after this one went back to the analog tuner.

never mind my earlier post--i found one at my local OD for $57!

The funny thing about it is that the shelf tag still had the original price of $229, which is probably why it was still there.

I bought one Friday night... went to install it Saturday morning... and it's going back today. The card was dead and the system wouldn't boot past post until I pulled it out and put my old card (a Ti200) back in.

You can actually RAM it through ATI. The card has a 3 year warranty. IF you don't want it, I'll buy it from you:)

If chili manages to get one, and someone still has an extra, I would also like to get one.

Let me know,
