$46.43 shipped....ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon DDR AGP 32MB NTSC White Box
Text

Just got one...NTSC is the key. A lot of these were sold earlier as PAL.

I have the older PCI 128 PRo, It's a great card for use with office/video software. (I do little gaming)

Maybe it's not that hot of a deal, but I haven't found the AIW any cheaper in the Radeon version/AGP - most are PCI. (sorry no cables but I already have them on the PCI version)

If your looking at backing up old VHS-C tapes and use MPEG-2, it's not too bad of a deal?....Maybe, don't beat me up too bad, it my first Hot deal post.

One question, dose it come with the remote?

If so a hot deal indeed!

opps, I finally figured out I need to click the stay logged in button....DA SJ...

The above link is to the ATI website. It does have S video outputs but no remote....sorry

There is no cabling with this deal but it is a NTSC card. If you have a VCR w/S video outputs you could capture MPEG 2 to your computer w/this card.

This is basically discontinued by ATI but it's the basic building block of it's newest video cards. Radeon cards are actually pretty good. 32MB of DDR isn't all that much in todays standards if you are a gamer....BUT MORE THAN ENOUGH for MS Office users and simple analog video extraction. Like I said, the PCI card I have works great and I paid $120.00 for it 4 years ago. This is a bargain...IMHO

It is compatable w/flat panel monitors....ta boot.

Hmmm... S-video and DVI-I. I have been looking to upgrade my GF3 Ti200 to a Radeon 9100 or GF4 Ti4200 with DVI-I connector (so I can run my 19" monitor and 19" FPD together). I don't really play games, though, and for the ones I would, my GF3 would do just fine.

Should I just get this card and run dual video cards for dual display output (utilize the DVI-I on the AIW)? Or should I spend more money to go with a 9100 or Ti4200?

Thanks!

EDIT: I just realized that would be two AGP cards...not possible. Soooo, how does this card compare to a GF3 Ti200 in 2D and 3D performance. Thanks!

Re: AIWs.

Hopefully you'll bring a nice string of beads and a witch doctor to get the card to work right. Or you have "the knack." I don't and I eventually got lucky with my K7S5A. I've been an owner of ATI cards since the first 4MB AIW, bought for $300 in 1993. I've been capturing video for a long time, so I'm no rookie.

So, I buys this AIW RADEON 32MB. Nice enough card, I guess, but I couldn't get the d!@#ed thing to capture video with the ATI drivers. I went up and down the lineup every evening for a week and I had combinations and permutations of two problems:

1. Timed capture wouldn't work (set the card to capture a certain station at a certain time -- PVR)
2. Timed capture would work, but the file it captured was 42K big. No smaller or larger.

See also: Thread in the Rage3D forum

I almost disinstalled the thing. Maddeningly, this AIW 32MB replaced an AIW128PRO, which was installed in another computer running XP and it worked great. So what finally worked? Well, disregarding the advice of ATI to install their drivers was the first thing -- I ended up using the default XP Pro driver. And then I installed MMC 7.7. And it worked. And I swore not to f^@k with the thing, and I haven't since then. I dread the day the HD dies, because then I'll be back at it. Oh, and what of the AIW128PRO? It runs MMC 7.6. Sure, it can't tune channel 20 or 62, but it's cooperative otherwise. And, no, I don't fool with that one either.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not intending to bash ATI, but just be advised that the ATI drivers can leave a bit to be desired. Many of you have had success, and I salute you. Consider yourself lucky. Now, I'm not discounting the fact that it may be a K7S5A issue. But I've got the capture cards functional, and I'm not going to fool with my luck in that area anymore. No ATI drivers for me.

Be warned/advised,
Cran

I have the K7S5A Pro and WIN XP Pro(SP1) and I had to un-install the XP drivers Then I went to the ATI web-site and downloaded the XP Drivers and MMC 7.2 (for the 128Pro) and DVD 5.0. There are new drivers available for the Radeon series, maybe the same process will have to be followed.

Go to DVDRhelp.com on how to tune your PC for optimal capture using the ATI All-in-wonder. Lots of good info on how to keep your PC from dropping frames. There is even a m@crovision hack available for the AIW cards to help w/VHS capture.

As for this retailer...can't be a whole lot worse than some of the others that have been recommended and turned out to be bad. Sorry I can't answer that question. I'll post results next week when card arrives (hope it works)

LOL, to an extent I'll agree. :p Except for the Radeon 9000 series, I've also owned each of the AIW series cards since the first RageII series and let me say, if you think you have problems now, imagine the first cards and release drivers. It all boiled down to:

Win98 + AIW (2MB) + TV Tuner = OS corruption.

Around this time, ATI had serious driver issues across their entire line of cards but it was the fact that the AIW was their flagship product and out of the box, the primary feature wouldn't work. Plus, I think this card's price tag had set the bar of being the most expensive consumer graphics card the market could carry. I was fuming until ATI released a revision. Afterwards, the Rage128 AIW driver support got boatloads better and this Radeon AIW finally picked up to be "very good."

Nowadays when I do a clean install with my 8500DV, it seems like one out of every five DVD Player installs always seem to give me trouble with hanging during play or some invalid shared resource. It's never the driver or MMCs though, they always seem to go without a hitch. Go figure.

Hmph, I've had this AIW, the AIW 7500, and the AIW 8500 DV and I haven't had problems as bad as the ones you two are implying. Either I got lucky (all 5 times, since I've had multiple of the mentioned cards), or well, like all products (especially computer parts), there are people who run into problems.

I've had ATI AIW Radeon 32mb DDR

It worked flawlessly for me except for one game.

I wouldn't mind having one over the GF4MX right now. I don't play high res games and I'd much rather have the features.

I've had this card for two years now and it's great. No big problems really and I love being able to record tv.

Great deal on a card that has served me well for a long time. Thanks, I just might add a little more to my credit card debt.

Do you guys know what cable I need to buy and where to get it?

It has a proprietary output connector so my vga monitor can't connect?

Appreciate your help

I'd get this, but I just picked up a Radeon 9000 Vivo at newegg for around $60 a few months ago. Same deal, except no TV tuner, which I wouldn't use anyway since there's no way to pick up digital channels with it. The Rage Theater chipset is awesome tho, no complaints here.
