God, I thought 8.25% or whatever it is here in NY was bad...

I'm still waiting 'til the 9800Pro reaches $200 before I jump. It looks like it'll be just a little bit more time now.:D

I bet that won't happen until ATI releases a couple more new cards...

I don't think so. The reason for the current rash of price drops is a direct result of a feverish price war that's suddenly broken out on between ATI and Nvidia. Now this is a kind of war I hope will last.

[Bangs Head Against Wall] I've been kicking myself for missing the $200 non-pro deal at CC earlier, then I go and miss this thread before it goes OOS! Great deal though guys. Next time save one for me ;).
Cheers

heh, that cracked me up: "...a kind of war I hope will last".

Furthermore, this is the kind of war where innocent bystanders (you and I) wholefully benefit from! Let's permit ATI and nVidia to keep duking it out, and I bet those 9800Pros will be down to $200... heck, back in november, the Sapphire 98900Pros went on sale at Newegg for $305 (or thereabouts), and now in about 2 months, price has dropped $80...

As far as price dropping, I still think the BFG 5900 is a better all-around deal.

Im curious to see to where all of this price-war craziness goes...

interesting,
the link given by xenolith shows in stock when i click it but if i navigate there through the newegg website it shows out of stock.
thereafter, when i click on xenolith's link, it shows out of stock. must have been MY cache (and xenolith's) that needed clearing. though i'm sure that it was oos last time i looked.

OOS for me now too, and I didn't even have to clear my cache. ;) For me, newegg shows an eta of 1/29/2004.

Well in Monroe County they were actually making legislation last year to increase the County's Sales Tax. If I remember correctly, that would have put Monroe close to 9%, the highest in New York state. :Q
