My first hot deals post. I think the title pretty much says it all. I have never heard of GeCube, but that is a sweet price even for an OEM card. Anybody have one of these that can give us an opinion?
*Edit* Whoops, forgot to include the web site:

Sorry about that. Jon

What makes you say that? It says it has 128MB and 128-bit floating point, but neither of those indicates it is the 'crippled' card. Maybe the image is telling?

hmm well according to Overstock.com The minimum shipping date for HL2 is Nov 2 so i think i will wait it out as i expect some killer deals before then.

*hopefully everyone else will upgrade to Pci express leaving me with a 9800pro for $50

Hello all,
GeCube is actually a real good brand, better than saphire and powercolor w/ competetive pricing. they use better memory and have generally better video cards and can o/c pretty nicely, but the 9800 128bit edition kinda sucks no matter how you look at it. just spend a few bucks more and get the pro, or just get a 9600xt for the same money, performs the same i think maybe better.

Reseller Ratings

yeah..Buyaib is a joke. I ordered from them back when sdram was the thing before DDR took over. The ram I received looked like a toy. I knew from the start it wouldn't post but I decided to try it anyway. Of course it didn't post and I sent it back. They refunded my card but charged me a restocking fee for defective memory. Horrible company. Surprised they're still in business with the poor ratings and the BBB ratings as well.

So a 9600xt beats a 9800pro...LOL

In response to superHARD (smarta$$)
In a lot of benchmarks the 9600xt is slightly better than the 9800se. Nevertheless, some of the newer 9800se's are able to be modded to a 9800pro, but for the 128bit edition the 9600xt is much better and has more potential.

This is one of the reviews on rr....
This guy is damn funny...check out the bold statement!!!!🙂

I was laughing at it for like 10 mins....

"This is what happened. I ordered my 2x512mb A-Data Viesta PC4000 for 236 USD. UPS brought it today 8/6/2004. I was still half asleep as the UPS guy gave me the package so i went back to the bedroom. I opened the package while my wife was right beside me.
What did i got ? 236 Dollar worth of AIR. No Invoice, no peanuts and sure no memory. Well now i have to see how it turns out but i m not very satisfied as well. I will force my money back through the bank if they dont do refund me my money in a short amount of time."

Who said anything about a 9800se?

A 9800se isn't anything close to a 9800...They don't even look the same not to mention the dozen different (slower) changes they made to that 9800se (cheap crap card)

Now you did know that the name "9800se" is only a marketing ploy to sell that card more than the competitors closely priced cards
