My card came in today. I'm not big on benchmarking and what not, but, I'll compare it on HL2 w/ before and after's. If you really really want benchmarking, I'll go ahead and download and run one.

Edit: I'm replacing my 9800pro 128mb w/ x1650xt 256mb.

System: P4 3.0, 1.5gb pc3200 ram, 9800pro, Asus p4p8000pe (I believe).

Yeah pls put out some benchmarks. I am leaning towards x1950GT. But I worry about PSU. Its 430W.

Th worry isn't so much the wattage rating, but the rating of the +12v rail ... a quality 430 watt psu would most likely have no trouble with the X1950GT, but I have no idea who makes Dynapower so it may work & may not.

OP take a look at the side of your power supply & you should see a sticker with the actual power outputs ... look at the number listed under +12v & report back.

Edit: This is the only model I found on the Dynapower website rated at 430 watts so my guess is yours is either close or identical ... its rated at 26 amps on the +12v rail, but I'd take that with a large grain of salt considering it sells with a case for roughly $30 total!

DP-430 / Power-More

My advice would be to replace this piece of junk asap even if you elect to keep your current system intact.

The quick and dirty:

Just put it in. Went ahead and got the updated omega drivers, so uninstalled old ones. Started up some CS:S, cranked everything up and runs smoothly. . .HDR and all, which I could never do w/ the 9800pro. I can even play at a higher res's than 1024x768 and is still playable, but I'm a snob, so, @1024x768 w/ everything on, I dont dip below 40 fps. . .9800pro I would be lucky to get 2fps. So far, so good. Going to go ahead and start tweaking and what not. I'm having trouble w/ downloading 3dmark 06, so that may have to wait til tomorrow night some time.

This is my PSU specs

Brand: Award.... Model: EP-43058
INPUT: Voltage - 115V/230V - Current - 10A/6A - Frequency 60Hz/50Hz
OUTPUT : Voltage - +3.3V 28A, +5V 40A, +12V 17A
OUTPUT : Current - -5V 0.3A, -12V 0.8A, +5VSB 2A
Peak Load: 430W

If thats the case then yours isn't even as good as the model I linked above & I'm surprised its held up for you as long as it has ... you really need to replace it before you buy any new GPU other then the 7600GT.

Any cheap psu recommendation that can run x1950GT ?
