Radeon 9800 Non Pro... can one get it to perform to pro levels?

Radeon 9800 - 325/290
Radeon 9800 Pro - 380/340

+55 on the core, +50 on the memory.

Not impossible, but certainly not something you'll run on stock cooling.

I've seen plenty of people do it with stock cooling no problems at all. You'll most likely have to have samsung ram though. Infineon or some of the other ram on these cards just won't cut it.

This is actually one of the few cards worth flashing. Flashing to pro raises memory voltage, so the memory works at higher frequencies as well. Cards with Infineon RAM shouldn't be flashed because the RAM will most likely not work at pro speeds. Cards with samsung memory have a pretty high chance of working as a pro.
Of course, if you can OC the card to pro speeds at stock voltage, flashing is not necessary.

The 9800np I got from a Dell overclocked a little bit past stock 9800 Pro speeds right out of the box.

Oh, so you're saying I should install the control panel?

Only if you want to adjust the graphic settings of the card at all. The control panel has no overclocking utility however.

If you install RadLinker it will automatically locate itself in the ATI control panel so it is a very convenient tool for overclocking because it is always there in the menu among all the other options you need for adjusting quality etc.

RadLinker (supports up to 9800XT)

once you adjust the card's settings just press Set and it will leave those settings on

Found the link.

My 9800 non-pro uses infineon RAM 🙁
