Crucial has the Radeon 9700 Pro for $319.99 shipped 2nd day FedEx.

do a search at www.bensbargains.net and look for the 5% off Crucial 9700 deal. apply that at checkout and that should get you your 5% off which

will bring the price down to $303.99.

sounds like a deal to me considering things arent looking too good for the GeForce FX right now.

*edit*

I dont know why I'm adding this in here also just because I'm sure I'll get even MORE grief from some clown(s) but I'll do it anyways.

I just found an even better deal.

www.googlegear.com has the PowerColor 9700 Pro for $275.99 w/ the option of 2nd day shipping for $1 - according to people who already own this card, they seem to like it alot.

I know what you mean, I hate it when people can't follow the f'n rules, and then when someone tries to let them know they act like a'holes. Oh yeah and to top it off a potentially hot deal get's tanked because someone needs to go back to school and learn to follow directions.

By the way yes I'm flaming....(ie breaking the rules, but hey it's for a good cause.)

Support, Hot Deal, man.

I just bought 9500 pro refurb though. Hopefully half the price can justify 10% decrease in performance.

Hey, are the reports true that you can O/C the 9500 to 9700? has anyone got it to work?

A 9500 Pro will never be a 9700 Pro because the 9500P has a 128bit bus while the 9700P has a 256bit bus, on the otherhand the 9500 non-Pro can and has been turned into a fully functioning 9700P with either a hardware mod, or software mod (I have mine running with a Soft Mod.)

By the way this is still hit and miss, some 9500NP's have artifacting or checkerboarding so buyer beware.

This is still a good deal at $30x.xx

So what you are saying is that a cheaper 9500 can be oced to 9700 pro and a more expensive 9500 pro can't? OOOOh yeah, 9500 here I come.

I just check the specs on the card above and its running a liitle slower than the ATI retail one:

core speed: 297Mhz clock speed.

memory speed: 263Mhz.

maybe it could be overclocked to the "built by ATI" card's default speed.

Dude, what do you expect? The guy has almost 10,000 posts on an internet forum. He clearly has no life outside of trying to police a forum so that he feels some connection to the outside world.

Anyway, thanks for the deal. I ordered 32 of them.

You'll be doing an actual modification to the card (either via hardware or software,) you need to by a specific kind of 9500NP as well (one that is built on the 9700 PCB, it should have 2 mem chips along the top and 2 mem chips along the side.) Remember though even if you get the right card and everything is working right on your end, the card may still not be able to function after the mod. Check these sites out for info.

Allegedly the PowerColor isn't clocked as high as the ATI-built piece, and has slower memory--3.6ns instead of 2.8ns or something like that.
