Radeon 9700 Pro Choice?

Have the following system AMD 2800+, ASUS A7N8X Deluxe, 2x512 Corsair XMS PC3500 now looking to add a video card which may be the Radeon 9700PRO unless the Gainward Ultra FX proves better.

There are different flavors of the Radeon 9700 PRO those build by ATI themselves and other companies.
Crucial, Gigabyte, etc. Any recommendations on which to get? terms of performance and overclocking?

Since you have a top end system I think you would be better off waiting for the extra performance from the R350 cards that should be announced any time now.

that is still a month away....and I have waited 2 weeks to still not use my new system because I was waiting for the GF FX reviews....that is why I am asking regarding the different brands of the 9700 PRO?

I am in the same boat as you, except I haven't waited as long. I just bought a kick ass system and the last piece I am still looking over is the video card. Trying my hardest to wait for the r350.

The Hercules Prophet seems to be the best ATI Radeon 9700Pro of choice (IMO).

The best 9700 Pro in terms of overclocking is the Gigabyte 9700 Pro (the gold colored HSF and ramsinks don't hurt either )
