I've read a lot about the problems that the Radeon 9700 Pro had with some 8x AGP boards. I don't know if this is related in any way
but possibly someone could tell me.

I've had tv-out playing many movies for a long time and never had any problems. All of a sudden the tv-out looked really dim...like the whites were gray,
and everything was just really messed up. For a long time it got so bad that the tv-out would not turn on when I clicked it on...and it wouldn't even show
the post screen in the beginning of the startup on the TV like it usually does.

The only way I could get it to work would be to enable it....and go into the advanced properties of the TV and change the format to pal b and then back
to NTSC M and it would pop on and look great. It was a bit of an inconvenience but I learned to deal with having to do that every time to get it to work.

Now the TV-OUT comes on when I click it on but it looks like it did before...dim. It won't even work anymore when I change the formats. I've done everything
I can possibly think of including a full reformat. (but it can't be the drivers if it doesn't even show the boot screen anymore) installing the new drivers as well
as the old. I've done everything short of putting it in a 4x AGP board.

I'm lost....please help anyone.

well, I've tried it in both boards and nothing at all works. Is there ANYONE out there that has any suggestions?

If I turn it to PAL, the whites don't show up grey anymore, but it is still in black and white. The graphics are still working fine, but the TV-out just won't work.

Someone PLEASE help!!

You probably won't like this, but RMA may be the next logical step.

Have you gone through troubleshooting with ATI support?

No I haven't called them...It is built by ATI but it still seems like I have to pay to talk to them. I bought it around september of last year so I've had it for a long time. It's worked before so I don't think that I can RMA it.

I definitely can't go without my 9700 Pro for a few weeks!!

It's got to be something stupid...
