Radeon 9700 Pro 3dMark03 scores....

As you may have guessed, I own a 9700 Pro; built by ATI. I have a 2000+ Processor. I had been looking at TomsHardware and have found that with a 2700+ and the same mobo I have (A7N8X Deluxe) will get a 4700 in 3dmark03. I went and tried and I got over 4800...this being with the 2000+ and with only pc2100 Cl2.5 RAM.

Is Toms Hardware wrong? or am I getting some seriously high marks. All the settings are standard in 3dmark which is why I can't understand it.
The test was run at 1024x768 with no AA or anything.

What are your scores?

I get 5k without overclocking in a 2500XP@2800XP. maybe it's higher because you're using newer drivers and this test is mostly GPU dependent.

My highest is 53XX also, when OC'ed to 354core 342memory. Texture quality etc. in the control panel in high.

I get about 4433, on a:
XP1800@Stock
KT7A-RAID MoBo
768mb PC133
Radeon9700PRO@Stock
With Cat3.6
My highest was 4505 with Cat3.4

yeah, around 5000 seems more like it. I don't know why they got such low scores on there. I guess all there is to blame is the drivers?

4676 with a non-o/c 1700+ 0n a K7N2 Delta=L. (Waiting for a 2400+ to play with. Cummon Perkolator!)

Actually, the card is a Sapphire 9700np flashed with a 9700 Pro bios.

The Catalyst drivers have matured in the past few months.

did the 3dmark03 benchmark with the patch

220 fsb Dual (440 DDR)

8x
360 // 340
Cat 3.6's (all settings on high performance)

with patched 3dm03

5592

5669 was my highest score, but that was before the ATI and 3dmark cheat fixes

'Chill', I average about 5400 with a 5900Ultra w/no mods, before I returned it and got a 9800Pro WITHOUT "the flicker"...

I ran over 6k at a lower clock, but the Audigy2 dropped me 200 points to 5850. My VIA RAID seems to conflict with it. 2.4C o/c to 3.2GHz, AIW 9700Pro. No artifacts I could see, and I was looking closely.

Not bad! I would think that your PC133 ram would hold you back a little more than that.

Similar to my old rig's. It also was PC133 in a P4@1400 and I used to get 4378 at stock speeds with cat 3.3 by hercules.

Thanks!
I pride my system. After a fresh re-install (about 5 months ago), spend a month tweaking for stability and speed. Its rare that my system will crash everything, its usually just the program in the foreground, and even thats rare.
I consider my system the pinacle of a budget speed demon. lol.
If i had to add it up, i`d say that the cpu / mobo / mem / hd / cdrw / dvd together, costs less than the 9700pro.

i'm pleased to note that I get 5035 with my 9500 np (softmodded and OC'd to 310/325). of course that is with an AXP 2700+, 512 MB Ram on an A7N8X mb. 🙂
