I'm doubting we will ever actually see it hit the market. Most likely it'll end up merely being used for test samples as the Radeon Maxx/Radeon 8500 Maxx were.
CAE is doing 4+way R9700 boards for their Tropos line of visual simulators though.

There's also no word on the AIW-9700 yet, I hope it comes out before xmas

Heh, though it would make a sweet card I don't think we'll ever see it, unless ATi has problems getting their .13 micron chip out in time to compete with the NV30. So if we ever do see it I don't think it would be anytime soon, I don't think there is a CPU out there that would be nearly fast enough to keep a dual r300's happy.

No, it is nVidia that needs to worry about getting their .13 micron NV30 out in time to compete with the R300; it is the R300 vs the NV30... ATI plans to release their .13 micron R350 sometime next year and they have no current plans to move the R300 to a .13 micron fabrication process.

Unless nVidia drops the ball I doubt the R300 will be able to keep up with the NV30. It may still be competitive but the NV30 will most likely beat it in every bench, nVidia rarely makes mistakes. The R350 will be ATi's real competition to the NV30, prolly including all the stuff they couldn?t squeeze into a .15 micron chip.
