Hello,

I am using the video card Radeon 9600xt. I play a game call counter-strike, and I get around 40 ? 60 fps. But I know I can get about 100 fps 24/7 with this video card, because I use to be able to get way better fps with my Geforce 2. I don?t know what is wrong with my video card. I think, I might be downloading the wrong driver for it, Can someone give me a direct link to download a good driver for Radeon 9600xt. Thanks for the help!
 
I had a 9600SE and had serious issues with it when I downloaded the drivers from ATI's website. However, when I reverted back to my old drivers all was well again... I think ATI stopped supporting the series AFTER 9800 because putting the newer catalyst drivers on a 9600 really messes things up.

I have uninstalled all my old drivers.

Anyone know what driver will fit radeon 9600XT the best??? A direct link will help.
 
So far I'm running the 4.12 cats w/ control panel. The only problem I keep having is the overdrive tab keeps disappering, which has happened with older versions also. On a fresh install of XP I went straight to 4.12 that I had saved. The overdrive tab was present. Played vampire bloodlines for a bit. And the overdrive tab was gone.
 
You most likely have Vsync enabled if you top out at 60fps. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it avoids image tearing. You can turn it off in the control panel, but you won't see any more frames than your refresh rate is set at.

turning off vsync may off sync your parameters on your GPU, SO you might want to be careful. On thebright side should something happen to your card you have reason to upgrade to a X890 CL!
 
I honestly don't think it's a driver/hardware problem, it has to be a setting problem.

try seeing if FSAA is enabled, etc....
