Is there such a thing as a Radeon 9600 LE? I thought i was ordering a 9600 NP 128 MB. I get the card, and it says R96LE on the front, and has a sticker on the back that says R96LE-C3

It also only has a passive heatsink, no fan.

Did I get ripped off or is a normal 9600 np

I've never heard of such a thing before. What are the clock speeds on it? A normal 9600 should be 325/400. As far as I know all 9600np's have passive heatsinks.

I'll find out when I get it all put together and booted up. I was just ready to call the store I bought it from and raise holy hell first ;)

It's running 324.5/202

I am assuming your 400 refers to the DDR * 2?? If that is the case, then I got a normal enough card :)

Yep 400 cause of ddr. It sounds like your card is the real thing. The only other thing I can think of that they could do to cripple it would be give it a 64 bit memory bus.

According to that serial number ? R96LE-C3 ? your card is a Powercolor 9600 Low profile. It has a 64bit memory interface instead of the normal 128bit. This 64bit memory interface also means it?s 30% slower than a normal 9600.

If your card is that Powercolor Low profile, I would definitely return it and get a proper 9600.
