Im having problems with m new 9500pro. Ive tried Cat 2.4 and now have 2.5. I havent installed DX9 or Cat 3.0. I have DX 8.1; pIII 450mhz, "i440BX/LX series" mobo, 128mb sd ram, Win ME. I know my system sucks, but i still have a couple of months to go before i can get a nice full upgrade. I know from atis site that the 9500pro must work with all 3 agps: 3.3v,1.5v and 0.8v. so whats the problem here ?
I can browse pages, play 2d, even go to the q3 or UT menu most times, but the games hang anywhere between 1 and 30 seconds after starting gameplay. Ive tried q3,UT,re-volt,rtcw,unreal1...nothing works.
HELP !!
ATi support hasnt even replied to my 2 emails. My first graphics accelerator, and things arent looking good.

I had the same problem with mine. I installed both dx9.0 and cat3.0, and my problem was solved. For any ATI related problems, I recommend this message board: Rage3D forums Someone here directed me to the same place when I had probs, now I visit there every day. Good luck.

to me this sounds like your power supply isn't cutting it. judging from your system, I'm guessing it's not a really hearty PSU. I think the bear minimum they recommend using with the card is a 300w supply, and and really recommend a 350w with this card.
seems to me that this would explain why it dumps on you when you start to use 3D functions.
that, or your cooling is inadequate, but I'd check the PSU first.
hope that helps...

yep. they were intel i740 8mb drivers! and how can i check if theyve been removed properly, if they dont appear in the add/remove programs ?
anyhow, sometimes the 3d is working fine, and sometimes im getting random freezes/lockups in 3dmark 2001SE as well as games.
any help ?

Might try lowering your hardware acceleration a notch or two as a temp fix. You really need an updated mobo with that card. Also might want to try DX9 and Omega's ATI drivers. Lots of folks at Rage3d are raving about them. Good Luck.

i have tried lowering acceleration all the way to NO ACCELERATION. didnt help. q3 and ut run fine most times, so does 3dmark 2001se..rtcw hangs always a few ses into the game. i dont want to try cat 3.0 / dx9 because from what i read they have no real advantage, and now that the card is kinda working with dx 8.1 i dont want to try dx9 and maybe screw it up again, i cant uninstall dx 9 and go back to 8.1 !!
