Bought a used Built By ATI 9500 Pro, installed it today along with the newest Catalyst drivers. Windows XP is showing it as a Radeon 9700 Pro....funny thing is it installed as 2 cards.
Radeon 9700 Pro
Secondary Radeon 9700 Pro.

I'm new to the Radeon line of cards, so any help or explanations would be greatly appreciated.

:D

To me it sounds like the card had its bios flashed, I've got a sapphire 9500 pro and in 98 it shows as RADEON 9700 & 9500 SERIES.

As far as I know the only benefit of the flash is to simply unlock the card for overclocking, but that is more than likely the reason its showing up as a 9700, good luck oc'ing. :)

The two cards under display properties refer to primary and secondary video adapters (you can run two monitors off the card, one on the VGA port, the other on DVI port). Windows treats these are two separate devices, hence the separate entries.
